On July 29, 2014, I was with one of my dearest friends, enjoying breakfast at the Secret Garden Cafe in Sedona, Arizona.

We had landed in Pheonix the night before and drove a few hours to reach our first destination; the Sugar Loaf Lodge in Sedona. It was not until we were in the airport en route to Arizona that we decided to stop in Sedona on our way to the Grand Canyon. With the help of Fodor’s, we found the Sugar Loaf and while waiting for our connecting flight we booked a room for that same evening. We arrived in the dark in beautiful Sedona, so it was not until we awoke the next day that we realized the beauty that surrounded us. The red rocks of Sedona that were erected against the clear blue skies were unlike any landscape I had ever seen before. Needless to say, our brief detour through Sedona was well worth it.

It was that first morning, while sipping a fresh mimosa, that I posted my first photo to instagram with the hashtag “making29count.” It was still the month of my birthday, I had just turned 29 on the 14th. Realizing this was the beginning of the end of my twenties, I decided to make my 29th year one to remember, one lived with intent. I wanted to be more intentional about each step, I wanted to experience more adventure, to see the world, to make a difference in the lives of those around me; to live with a purpose and be thankful for every moment.

Now, at 31, I continue to embrace life with intention, and I hope you will join me on this adventure: My Intention Adventure.
